Trial - Serological response after vaccination with a CAV vaccine
A trial to measure the average serological response in breeders as measured in the VN test after vaccination with live CAV vaccine.
Experimental design
Three flocks of broiler breeders were vaccinated at approximately 10 weeks of age as follows:
Route of administration of Nobilis CAV P4 and vaccines used in combination
Flock 1 | Nobilis CAV P4 by intramuscular injection* |
|---|
Flock 2 | Nobilis CAV P4 by subcutaneous injection* |
|---|
Flock 3 | Nobilis CAV P4 by wing web application** |
|---|
* in combination with Reo Nobilis 1133
** in combination with Fowl Pox
Serum samples were taken at different intervals and antibody levels were measured using the VN test. The results can be seen in the graph below.
Results
The average serological response in breeders as measured in the VN test after vaccination with live CAV by s.c., i.m. injection and wing web application is illustrated in the graph below. Notice that a consistent VN titre level (above the minimum protective level -8log2-) is obtained after vaccination with the appropriate methods.

Conclusion
A high, homogenous and consistent serological response was obtained in the vaccinated groups.
