Vaccination against Chicken Anemia Virus Infections in Chickens

Vaccination is the backbone of protection against CAV and only live vaccines are used.

• Vaccines form an important part of a CAV control strategy.
• Depending on the manufacturer live vaccines can be applied by mass vaccination (e.g., drinking water), otherwise by wing web administration or s.c. or i.m. injection.
• CAV live vaccines induce long lasting systemic immunity
